Artist Statement

Aurora Biancardi’s works are the result of a practice that feeds on daily encounters with people and things that open up new relationships. By collecting errors and scraps, the artist is interested in making the invisible visible and stimulating new visions. In her work, the ordinary reaches an extraordinary dimension: scraps lose their appearance and become traces of affection and relationships, which speak of everyday life. The encounter between form and matter acquires truth from human participation, just as it reveals something about human beings themselves. In her practice, she identifies, notes and takes pieces of matter that she puts back into space. These fragments of reality are transfigured by an aesthetic that cultivates, on the one hand, the wonder of vision and, on the other, the patience of elementary operations.
